It is what it is

NO SMOKING.
NO TURN ON RED.
EMPLOYEES ONLY.
NO PARKING TOW ZONE.
WET PAINT.

I am amazed at how these simple instructions run our everyday 9-5 consumer lives. We simply follow them and the system usually works. It is what it says it is. On the other hand, why it is so hard for us to think like this in situations when people tell us to leave them alone, I am over you, I am quitting my job, I don't like your hair, etc. etc.?!!???!!! Why do we put on extra weight to those statements when we could just take them for what they really are? I guess it's different when a REAL PERSON tells you these things than a signpost or a banner would.

Lately, I have been pondering on this philosophy "It is what it is." I am learning how to view things and people point blank, sans makeup, raw, naked, blunt, straightforward, in simple present tense. I am becoming "rude" according to some friends (dunno what that word truly means now) because of my candor, and it enfuriates me when they attribute it to having lived in America or adopting this "western" worldview. Bollocks. I think we are the ones making the choice to change ourselves into whoever we want to be wherever we are. I don't care if you are buddhist, a communist, a farmer, a "conservative asian," a supermodel from Milan, or an obese gymnast. WHEN YOU DON'T CHOOSE, YOU LOSE. A lot of us are afraid of change, of making a choice, and we simply live by default with whatever Hollywood tells us to do or look like, whatever our employers dictate to us, whatever our esteemed sub-cultures impose on us. I AM NOT MAKING THAT SAME CHOICE ANYMORE. I choose to live my life.

It may hurt at first or most of the time, but when we take life for what it simply says it is, we will have less drama and complications 24/7. We have to learn how to savour life organic, swim in the waters au naturelle, hear words of love and hate in crisp digital sound.

Your life awaits you. You can always make a choice. Remember, when you don't choose, you lose.

Let go. Say it. Do it. Give it to him or her. Unto you is given the promise of Infinite Love, of Life Eternal: "I will never leave you nor forsake you..."

LIFE IS GOOD.
