I say good bye
to him who
opened the door
wearing a borrowed shirt,
somebody's trousers,
somebody's image of the Who's Who.
I say good bye
to the hands he held
the knobs it twisted open
the shoes that walked a path
that was not on Life's map,
that was going to Never Never Land.
I say good bye
to the words he said
the thoughts he acted upon
the stories he thought to be funny
the feelings he deemed as true and lovely
the man he thought he was going to be.
I say good bye
to ME,
the One who walked out the door
craved for more and more,
forgetting to listen quietly, deeply, intently
to Him who truly loves me, solely, genuinely. Only.
I say good bye
and say good bye again.
Close the door.
Hear His voice.
Behold His eye.
Beauty. Love. Truth. God. Me.
