Go ye therefore...

“To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, to draw closer, to find each other and to feel. That this is the purpose of LIFE." - LIFE MAGAZINE

I am beginning to understand why I love traveling, and why I dislike being caged in routine and a false sense of permanence. The Earth moves around the Sun at about 67,000 miles per hour, and none of us are nauseated. It is the nature of our planet to rotate and move forward through eternal sunrises and sunsets. Nothing really stays: where one thing perishes another one flourishes.

This understanding of the nature of the Universe is helpful in understanding our human nature in relation to what happens in our everyday lives. We sometimes get stuck in one concern, detail, event, issue, or challenge that we can't quite get ourselves out of. We think it is a dead end, that the earth is flat and we will all fall at the edge when we reach it. The clever design of the Universe, however, diminishes this theory in leaps and bounds. When we are helpless and incapable of getting at a solution is not any different as when things are in control and there isn't a line of worry wrinkled on our foreheads. Whether we are feeling safe and secure or threatened and vulnerable, the Earth continues to spin, gravity keeps us grounded, and the Universe is held in perfect order and synchronicity.

This is how I feel when I travel: I stop worrying about anything, and I just enjoy the sights and sounds of my destination. One always finds a smile, a breathtaking coastline or skyline, architecture, interesting flavors, a different language, a new point of view on a different part of the globe. Ironic but true, one usually gets very excited to leave home for the holidays, and hates going home after. Unless the trip was a disaster, I never look forward to going home after an adventure because it reminds me of going back to my life of work, worry, and set patterns of behavior designed for existence but not for magnificence. What did our ancestors do as hunters and gatherers? How did they discover carrots, pearls, fire, diamonds, and other things hidden from the naked eye? They didn't stay in one place like pawns on a chessboard waiting to be eaten- they explored and discovered LIFE. Things that stay on the middle of the road either get run over or pushed from side to side by those that move forward.

I believe that there is more to find and feel in this vast and beautiful Universe we live in. We were not created to build safe houses and secured fences so we can protect ourselves from the elements. Most of us don't want to go out there because we think someone or something is out there to get us! You were created not because someone wants to destroy you or kill you, you were given life as an invitation to experience LOVE from the Creator and the Universe it created. Your coming to existence was put forth by someone else. You were brought out from the darkness of nothingness into the light of all that is.

So don't be afraid. You are not responsible for everything and everyone else including your self, your family and loved ones. You can offer help when you can, you can let go when you cannot. Worrying is expensive, it will cost you your sanity. Faith is free, you will have everything you will ever need.

The Universe asks nothing from you but to TRUST that everything will be okay even at 67,000 miles per hour.
