YOLO
What we know and don't know won't hurt us if we don't let them.
My mind has reached a level of brutal honesty where I don't really care anymore about the outcomes of daily living. All of human endeavor is pointless, because however worthy our conflicts and aspirations are, the ultimate end of all things is death. We will all expire and leave this physical existence no matter how great or little our achievements amount to.
The only redeeming value in this opportunity to live is our freedom to choose how we go through this temporary passage into death. Since we don't know what happens after asystole, then we should not limit ourselves to what we can get out of this daily normal sinus rhythm. Be amused while waiting for your turn to exit as pleasure is the only sensible sport in life's arena. An atheist once wrote: "I believe in Life BEFORE death," and while this makes perfect sense, a lot of us still live miserably in the hope that things will be better after we die.
The enlightened artist will create a masterpiece out of his life. He is not afraid to do as he pleases, and he seeks out that which gives him the greatest value for every breath he takes. Freedom is very empowering. It stops worry at the root, and takes flight on cue whenever it wants to. The only dark place we will ever know is that moment when we close our eyes to sleep forever and never see the light of day. The oblivion and the demented nature of that slumber is so dark, it's absolutely unfamiliar.
Your mind can either be your friend or foe, or both. It's so limitless and powerful, it can create and destroy the kind of life you want. Today, control your thoughts and constantly re-mind yourself that your brain will shut off someday, and that you need to do the things which give you the highest pleasure imaginable while you're still alive.
Do what you want. You only live once.
