today,
you held my hands
till you let go,
and slept into eternal bliss.
Your face radiant,
peaceful, happy, bright.
We mourned your loss,
and still you smiled.

From that day on
you stirred my heart:
questions, answers,
more questions, no answers.
I miss you,
and I am miserable.
I remember you,
you are adorable.

This year
today,
I held my hands
till you and God heard
my prayers, my poems, my songs.
My face radiant,
peaceful, happy, bright.
We celebrate your life
at last we smiled.

From this day on
I open my heart:
to promises, blessings,
more promises, more blessings!
I still miss you,
but I am hopeful.
I still remember you,
you are always beautiful.
